Project: REDEVELOPMENT OF CHURCH/COMMUNITY COMPLEX

Synopsis: Completed in June 2003,Tauranga’s new Holy Trinity (Anglican) Church has proved an excellent venue for both church and community activities like concerts and school functions. The semi-circular auditorium incorporates individual theatre-style seating for 900, state-of-the-art audio/video equipment and excellent acoustics. Much of the kauri from the old church (which was burnt down) lives on in numerous architectural features.

Catalyst Directors have been intimately involved in delivering this excellent new facility. As a key member of the fundraising committee, Kevin Wearne was responsible for ensuring that the $5
million dollars required was available.

Noteworthy features contributing to the success of this project were the use of “value-engineering” and a “partnering” charter.

Project: RISK MANAGEMENT

Synopsis: Risk is the possibility of suffering harm or loss through an unexpected event. Risk is an integral part of doing business and risks may be financial, asset, reputational, regulatory, political, operational, legal or market risk.

It is important that all organisations, particularly those in the public sector adopt a methodical and rigourous approach to identifying and managing risk.

NZS 4360:2004 is the New Zealand Standard for Risk Management. The process used is widely applied in all sectors:

Catalyst has assisted clients to implement best practice in risk management on an organisation–wide basis, within significant operational areas or project specific basis.
